Began active duty September 1986. Reported to the USS Savannah (AOR-4) Norfolk, Virginia in January 1987. Served aboard the Savannah until leaving active duty in October 1989. Transferred to Navy Reserves November 1989 until retirement on October 1st, 2012. Promoted to First Class Petty Officer in 1995, selected as Chief Petty Officer in 1998 and Senior Chief Petty Officer in 2001. Mobilized/ deployed to the Persian Gulf in February 2003 in support of operations Iraqi Freedom, Noble Eagle and Enduring Freedom. Re-assigned to the Sea of Japan operating area in May of 2003.
