Following his basic training and School of Infantry training in the US Marines, Drum served 6 years as a Reservist in Echo Co, 4th Light Armored Reconnaissance BN, 4th MAR DIV. Serving as a Rifleman, Scout/Grenadier, and eventually a Scout Squad Leader, Drum was able to train in operations across both the east and west coasts of the United States, as well as abroad in the Kingdom of Morocco and South Africa. During his last year of service, Sgt Drum served as Echo “Empire” Company’s Chief Scout Leader.
